Pacific Raceways - 5/25/07
NW F-Body showed up with 5 cars, the Ford guys had 17 by our count.
4 made the quarter, 3 made the semi final. Most of our heavy-hitters were MIA , so I'm extremely impressed with those that showed, out seeking blood!
Tony from our team ran Kenny, but I had to run my wife in the semi finals... (You know that went over like a ton of bricks - I'll be doing chores for a month!)
The final was Kenny and myself. It was a double breakout, with me breaking out worse by a hair.. Kenny ran 12.025 on a 12.04 and I ran 13.58something on a 13.60. I did get the better light and crossed the line first with Kenny just behind, but barely on the wrong side of my dial... oops!
The Ford team took a massive beating but their numbers showing up will definitely make an impact on the team totals. Those I talked to seemed in good spirits, but I do feel bad for them since they had more than the rest of the teams put together (!) and had to eat their own.
Sooooo... when's the rest of the group coming out to play?

Congratz! We need to see your numbers in the RWYB thread Jonathan!
I'm lookin' forward to making my first race with the team in June.
If these Ford guys keep out-manning the competition it might be worth merging with another GM related club to even out the numbers game. Call it NWHeartbeat or something like that.

That was awesome! I loved, how in the first round the Fords outnumbered the GMs 2-1 or so. Then in the second round, it was more or less matched. Then, in the third, the GMs outnumbered the Ford 2-1. Heh heh.

Excellent racing last night. You AND the wife! One of our guys last night tried dialing in soft against your wife, but got his lunch handed to him. Again good racing by both of you!

That was an awesome night. Very glad I went.
Not racing since September was a tough stretch. Making it through the first round with a REALLY great race felt SO GOOD. Then next round I put a fender too far on a Camaro and broke out by a tenth.
I was dialing soft back from whatever the competition is running so I could launch from idle and granny it down the track. Was cool running like junk winning with a 12.0 dial and then getting knocked out with a 14.0 -- haha. That was a funny race.
Hopefully soon I can run the car hard and race against my own times. Just not yet.

The other Ford I ran in the first round ran his number to the hundredth, but I treed the crap out of him, so he went home. You guys gotta work on those lights! Or not ... we like the free points.

Damn, sounds like an awesome day of racing, wish I coulda been there.. I'm still in Atlanta at the F-body Gathering. There are some SICK cars here this year... got to see the concept ragtop, and there's a C5-R blocked twin turbo C6 Z06 here that dynoed at 1450 RWHP, and blew a tire on the dyno. I'll be posting a crapload of pictures on Monday night when I get back.

Sorry I could not make it. To much going on at work right now. I will try to make it next Saturday. On a good note, the wife and I are in Portland right now, Dropping off Bobby,s Tranny and picking up his Roll Bar. Hopefully I can get it installed this week. Congrats to all of you. Nice to see our team doing well.

Great job, Jonathan and Sarah! I've been busy with my move into the new house... I've just about been breaking my back the last few days and I'm sore as hell... but happy to finally be in the house.
I'll be at Bremerton next weekend for sure...
