Sounds like the same person who was in here last year trying to promote it. .. 27x9 DR class? . Give me a ******* break. Try running on that with toqque. They seperate thier classes by tires alone. So if you have an American car with big tires you have to be in the class that runs 8.32?
Look at the speeds and times and then read the webpage. Street appearance and running 8.32 Isnt that pro-strock?
Maybe you FI guys can compete, but 10.15 on a 9inch drag radial is not a class a car with tq can compete in unless you've got full blown suspension and then they wont let you run in it. AM I reading it wrong?
Seems like its weighted for and made for FI and bottle fed cars. Is it me?

Not if you dont have to dial in, just keep it civilized.
Like you have cars that can legally run to 11.49 and under right now. They should not be running against a car that only runs 11.50 and over.
Dont you have to state your et when you bracket race? Well you would not have to state your ET in this case, but you cant run under your class time.
Just an example.
You could break it up how ever you want. 13.00+, 11.50-13.00, 11.49-10.00? 9.99-8.00? Isnt that what the pro's do?

You mean sandbagging?
Not sure if thats what you mean but if it is where is the bragging rights in that?
If you compete in one class you cant compete in another. If you want your car to wear a skirt thats up to you..lol
I mean if you've got 500+ hp and trailer your car in and your competiting in the 11.50-13.00 group your not playing nice. Self policing I think
The faster class gets the bigger trophy. Anyone caughgt sandbagging gets the pink powder puff award. We're all adults here, cant we play nice without cheating. The goal is to go as quick as you can.

Why would I run a 13.00 car against cars that can run 11.50. Doesn't seem like I'd win many rounds that way.

Well it was just an example of course it would have to be refined. Like I said, maybe it's me. Not like I could compete in any of those classes they have anyway. Just looking at something for the majority of the cars in our section.
Seems like we have a handful of really fast cars, some in the mid fast range and some in the factory class. we run from 10's(9's?)-13,s here
I've never broken a 13..LOL but I'm hopeful this is the year I get quicker

If you look at every heads up class that has ever existed they all evolve into capital buck race cars that resemble what the rules state. NMCA started with some fast back halved cars that the guys had fun running. Then they got so fast that they became unsafe because they were back halved and were going stupid fast. A couple of people died even. Now they are Pro Stock cars with Nitrous, blowers and turbos. Pure race cars that happen to fit in the rules. Granted with the speeds involved it is a LOT safer but street cars they are not. They even got rid of the drive for most if not all classes.

I think one of the best classes we don not see around here is called "Open Comp"
Rules usually go like this.
Some require a 30 Mile drive(all our cars do this anyways)
Then you get to the staging lanes and you are NOT allowed to even pop the hood. The only adjustments are setting rear tire pressure...down ONLY and topping off the fuel.
Now you make three back to back passes. N2O guys are allowed to swap bottles and you can top off fuel(meth) ONLY! Some do not even allow this
Next some take the average but most take the fastest pass. Your Dail in is .010 faster then your fastest pass for the rest of the event.
Run your dail or loose!
This is basicly what Pinks "All out" was modeled around.
It is bracket racing...to the extreme and some thing I would be interested in

I think your Turbo is abit small, but heres where you would need to go:
http://www.pscaracing.com/Rules/rule...ildstreet.html
Don't worry they only run Mid-Low 8s. But I ASSume, that since you are putting a chute on the car you expect to run that also right (150+)?
BTW, bring some spare pistons, and lots of other spare parts. You're gonna need em if you want to play headsup. Thats what it takes if you want to be competitive. Regardless of what many people think of Turbo Power being so reliable. I can point you in the direction of guys running Turbo stuff, and when you push em, they break like the rest....
Headsup racing is just plain too expensive. Nevermind the trickery getting around rules.... It might be fun for a once a year trip or something though.
In the end, just enjoy your hotrod for what it is. A badass Street Car, that can go to the track and run Low9s/Hi 8s (or whatever you're planning).

Blanco - what you are talking about is index racing, not a true heads up but similar.
I've watched these guys and know a couple. These guys are based in Portland that is why they run PIR and Woodburn. They are trying to get participation up and if there is interest by enough people farther north they are more than willing to travel and maybe able to schedule an event that direction. I can vouch for a majority of these cars that they are street cars. One guy in Outlaw drives his mid 80's Camaro on the street and to the track and runs 8.6's and then drive home. You can make a 9" tire hook and yes you will need some suspension work to do it. And you can do the suspension stuff within their rules. I have a couple of friends in Idaho that run mid 8's in Boise on a 9" tire. Yes to be competitive in these classes you will need a power adder. They have the schedule and rules set for this year, but go to their website and partake in the discussion of changing both next year. I know their is already discussion started on changing the DR class so that it is kept as an entry level heads up. They are talking about limiting it to no power adders.
