Default GMHTP LTX vs LSX Shootout

GM High-Tech Performance magazine is on the lookout for mid 10 to 9-second LTX and LSXs for a shootout in late October to early November at Englishtown Raceway Park in Old Bridge, NJ. The cool fall air should allow for some good timeslips on E-town's sticky track, and all invitees will have the whole day to make passes while the GMHTP staff snaps off pictures for use in an upcoming article. The rules are open to allow any LTX or LSX combination utilized in any late model GM. The only stipulations are that each car must comply to Raceway Park's 95DB limit and be NHRA legal (according to its ET)–so roll cages, harnesses, etc are a must. To apply email an overall, engine, and interior .jpg to scott.parker@primedia.com along with timeslips, dyno numbers, a list of mods including NHRA safety equipment, home, work and cell phone numbers. The deadline for applications is September 15, and all invitees will be notified no later than September 26th.

I wish my car was NHRA legal...the track is only a 45 minute drive from me

the car is probably going to be getting torn into for my turbo build anyway

The 95dB rule is a problem for most of us I might be interested Scott, I'd just have to throw an exhaust on. Can you give me the details on how they test the 95dB rule?

I will definity throw my name in the hat too. I looked on Englishtowns web site and did not see any clarification on the rule, so more info is needed.

I am waiting to hear back from the folks at Raceway Park, but I think DB are checked 100-feet from the burnout box. Usually as long as you have mufflers (full mufflers not bullets) on an N/A, nitrous or blower car you are alright.

Sorry I can't disclose the date at current moment, except to say that it will be late October to early November. All invitees will be notified of the exact date with their invitation, which should be about one month's notice prior to the track day. If you are not sure whether you can make it, apply anyways and we will take it from there.

If I were HMHTP I would just book a flight to Milan and he could have all the cars he wanted.
