I like this idea. I've considered finding a totalled LS1 fbody with a good powertrain and swapping that into my V6 car, but still unsure if I will do that or not.

She's prolly totalled but on the positive side since it's someone you know you won't have to worry about getting f-ed by insurance companies etc....time for a Vette and keep us posted.

My GTA looke dlike that and the adjuster stopped estimating once he hit $7k. That car is done man. Look at the bright side, no one was hurt and it can be replaced. It could have been soooo much worse.

Sorry for your loss!

Damn man thats shitty. Looks totalled to me just by lookin at it combined with mileage.

I can honestly say if my GF ever hit me like that she wouldn't be my girlfriend anymore. Not just for the fact that she hit me but for the fact she was absent minded enough to hit a car stopped in the damn center turn lane. Just couldn't let myself be with someone that airheaded.

Now if it was my wife, I'd just put it in her butt, LOL.

its done bro... So Sorry. Like everyone else says. They will total it, but ask about the buy back option. Be sure to strip that car down before you hand it over to them. Im sure you can hand it to them with 4 spares and no one will say a thing. If you think you can make out with some money, do it. My friend had his car totaled, got the check and they left the car with him and told him to do what he wanted with it. Youll get a couple of grand in parts alone on that car. Good luck!

she decided not to total it! she valued my car at 18k so that they could fix everything. so far its 8k worth of damage. ordered UMI 3pt SFCs last week. if they can't be installed as soon as I get home from the dealership, it is going right back to them.

That sucks man. I hope it turns out alright.

My first SS got totaled, so I bought an 02 SS
At least I more or less walked away, plus the motor/trans were fine.

you can see here how the diff took quite some force, and hitting it dead on saved my life and the rest of the car.

How the hell was she able to value your car at $18K. Don't get me wrong, your car is a nice car, but it isn't worth $18K; maybe $8K - $10K. Hell my SS w/ 90K miles on it isn't worth $18K.

**** it, take the money and run ; u lucked out man, good luck with everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When i get my own insurance, Allstate all the way!

It can be the same or even better if you take it to the right body man.

Can't believe the valued the car at 18K! But I wouldn't be complaining.
