When my buddy got hit damn hear head on in his 98 TA with 125k miles on it it was totaled and he explained to his insurance guy that it had a lot of moneys worth of mods on it (cam, lifters, push rods, headers, exhaust, 10-bolt moser rear end, suspension parts, and the wheels i have on my car now except i had to buy 1 new wheel cause the other was FUBARD. lol) the insurance company ended up giving him $11k for his. He then bought it back for a rediculously low price and parted it out. Probably all depends on your agent and company though. Good Luck!!

i told my insurance company the same ^ ^ ^ that i had a bunch of stuff done to my car. they said not our problem. so i took all my **** out. junk yard came and picked up car. half the motor was gone and he was like"what the hell" i said insurance company wouldn't pay me for my stuff. he was cool.

week later insurance company called me telling me i had to give all the car stuff back. i asked from the factory? they said yeah. i was like it is in the garbage about a year ago. and again they said they need it. i said" Not my problem"

i dont know man,it might be close, Its hard to tell but i don't think its much more than a quarter, some other rear sheet metal pieces and a little bit of frame pulling, but from the pictures it's impossible to see whats going on.

Oh, and a total loss is given to a car if the estimate to fix a vehicle is over 70% of what the car is valued at

Well after all of this time...im back and I must say I am thrilled! and shocked at how well it turned out. They left a bit of overspray in the doorjams. All structural components were brand new GM. The fender was used obviously but looks great! All body lines fit perfect. New clearcoat all the way down the doors and on the roof.

Tell me what you think! Total damages was around $10,200.

Here were some progress pics from halfway through. Total time til I got it back was 2 months and 1 week. I have lifetime warranty on all repairs.
