Airbrush kit
#22
oh okay. i didnt know the kandy colors were transparent. thats cool though. so everytime you go with another color or go thru the steps do you have to mix a new color??

I have all my colors in cups, when its time to swap colors, i pour the remaining paint in the airbrush cup back into the right paint cup, whipe the airbrush cup clean with a clean towel, and pour a little laquer thinner into the airbrush cup. Then put a paper towel in front of the nozzle like if you are suffocating it and press the trigger back it will cause bubbles in the cup and clean the nozzle of your airbrush. Throw out the laquer thinner pour the next color and go to town.

alright. sounds like i need to get some paint and go to town lol ill shoot ya a pm or just ask you in a thread if i need anymore info or anything. thanks for all the help man. and you are badass with an airbrush
#25
Yeah just pm me and i'll help you out. For the kandy steps it would be better if you got a touch up gun. The air brush is too small to cover big areas like on cars. Of course another iwata would be best, Iwata lph-50. You will also need a good air compressor and a good clear gun for a painting and clearing yourself. For clear lph-100, its good for bikes and cars.
Thanks, Pheonix..

hey i looked up the Iwata LPH-100 on the website i got the kit from & the only ones i see are $297.95 man thats more than i paid for the whole airbrush gun/compressor kit. anywhere i can get it cheaper just to do the clear coat??

For a car i would rather have a nice gun, but you can get away with a cheaper sharp gun or something with a 1.3 or 1.4mm nozzle. A good gun will always spray better and last longer. Yeah the Iwatas are semi expensive, but well worth the money.

lol yeah i bet so. yeah his T/A is badass. he was going to airbrush my nitrous bottle for my truck awhile back before i got rid of the kit. well i will try to find a kinda cheap gun to spray the kandy & clear colors. is the Kustom colors brand good paint?
#35
oh okay. i watched a tutorial video of Ed Hubbs doing true fire and that was the paint that he used. he said he preffered them because they came premixed and just poured it in.

okay, im pretty sure its not water based but ill try to find out. for a whole set of colors to make true fire in either green, blue, purple, or traditional its like $60. that sound like a good deal?
