Wrecked my 98 Camaro
I wrecked my 98 Camaro when i got caught in the snow the other day. I went to turn and slammed right into a parked car. I messed up my bumper, fender, turn signal, and headlight. I prob hit it doing about 15 miles an hr. I checked the inner frame rail and it looked fine do you think i bent the frame? Also I priced out the parts on hawks parts and it was over $1000. bumper alone is 470 gm new. I saw an aftermarket for $35.00 on ebay and some others for 200. I want something that is going to fit well with minimal fit problems. Whats a good bumper and fender that is cost effective? This is after i adjusted it the best i could to make it look not as bad!

first off don't go with the ebay cheap crap. go gm. i hate to say it with the cost..but its the best way to go as far as fit and quality. i work in a body shop and whenever we put on aftermarket stuff..even from a decent company...dosn't turn out good if it even fits. a 15mph hit you 99.9999 percent chance wouldn't do anything to the rails unless you went over something at a weird angle. but the only way to be 100 percent is to take it to a body shop and have the frame measured.

also, i couldn't see cause my computer wasn't letting the pics come up..but it looks like only the fender is ripped...what happened to the bumper? if you only scuffed it or something like that you only need to sand and get it re painted...dosn't HAVE to be replaced. good luck with everything

Thanks!
To answer a few questions. The frame rails looks ok i can see them through the torn fender. Bumper has a few cracks from the wreck but the impact form feels fine.. I apparently bend the brackets for the bumper but i don't think it is that bad. So when you wrecked your car how much did it cost to fix it back to look that nice! The funny part is this is my everyday car now since my lil neon got totaled by a drug driver. I should be getting $2500 for the neon so i have enough to fix it but i want to keep cost down but done right!

all gm parts!!!!!!! aftermarket parts never fit right. might cost more but trust me get the gm parts while you can because after 10 years of the car being released they can cancel parts production like they are starting to do on the lt1 cars. luckily i got luckey and got all the original parts i needed.

IMO..You get what you pay for, with that said if you cut corners with the $ then you wont be happy with the end result.
Aftermarket parts are ok for a DD that you don't care about. But you seem like you take pride in your car.....So you wont be happy with the Cheaper parts.

If you want to buy OE GM parts go to http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ it will save you a lot more money then going to the dealer and requesting the parts. it may be more expensive then aftermarket but less then dealer cost but its OEM and thats what counts.

From the pics, your bumper looks fine, you just need a new passenger fender, and maybe the bracket behind that if it was bent too much. But from the looks of it, new fender + paint fender and bumper and you should be good. My car was hit worse than that and it just needed a fender and a couple brackets, still needs the bumper replaced or repaired but I don't have the money right now (it has a crack in it).
I have an aftermarket fender on my car from ebay and it is pretty close, but it wouldn't cut it for a show car. In my case, it was cheap and even though it isn't a 100% fit, it is 98% and looks tons better than a large shattered part.
