Wow. Thats a lot.

You could of messed up one of the first layers and thats why is hazy. It could also be because you sprayed them in too humid of weather or maybe the clear isnt working with the VHT and did it.

Well if they arent shiny all you need to do is get 2000 grit, seeing how you did 1500 already, and then polish them again.

THis is what you need to do.....sand the crap off your tail lights bro.....go to the nearest bodyshop and tell them you want the to base coat tint them then clear over it with a real gun.......vht tends to fade and look like crap after time......if you base coat clear coat it it will stay there prolly longer than your cars paint will. The body shop wont charge hardly anything and it will look a million times better....see look....

i did my tails a while back on both my old v6 firebird, and my z28.

i hit them with vht till i got the darkness i wanted, i then sanded the vht orange peel look down with 800 grit wet, once they were nice a smooth i cleaned them.
i then hit them with a light coat of truck, van and suv clear from dupli-color, followed by a slightly thicker coat and them finally with a full thick coat for the finish.
then once they were dry i followed by wet sanding with 800 again untill they were smooth, then dry sanded with 1500, then wet sanded with 1500, then wet sanded with 2000 for a perfectly smooth finish.
once all sanding was done and they were cleaned off again for any dust particles from the sanding i followed up with some rubbing compound by hand.
i used 3m rubbing compound but i've used other kinds before and they all worked good.
then after throughly rubbing them down with compound, i whiped excess off with a towel.
once that was done i applied some zaino polish to them, and some wax and sealer to top it off.
