I'm meeting with the adjuster today and getting an estimate from my body shop. We'll see what happens.

 

Uh oh, the quarter panel has been discontinued from GM.

The adjuster says $2800
not replacing the roof and somehow replacing a whole quarter
at first he wanted to section the quarter, but no way
no blending of the paint up and onto the deck lid and wing

My body shop says $4400
replace whole quarter
replace roof (how else could you replace the quarter?)
blend paint up and onto the deck lid and wing (probably not needed)

The adjuster was understanding, and he said that he would work with the roof deal. If it breaks taking it off then he would replace it. LOL don't they all break when you remove them?

My body shop was really helpful. They are tracking down a quarter in Florida and will have it shipped. We will see how that works, because I don't need another dented quarter panel LOL. She's scheduled for sugery on the 28th.

 

Well that sucks to hear in a way but I am glad to hear that they are going fix it for you instead of totaling it.

90% of the time I have seen or heard of people taking of the roof top panel it snaps, it is because it is glued/epoxed to the metal roof.

 

Drive a D-Max . . . it can pull a house without loosing it's breath.

The other day at the gym I came out to see exactly this on my black Z28.
Fortunately my dents not as bad but the car was white that hit it. So I have white streaks running across the driver side door.

It was a hit and run and I have yet to find the person who did it, I probably never will.

 

if you do then castrate them with a set of vice grips and a hand held torch..then take whats left and tie it to th eback of your car and teach them how to roller blade on skin...just me and my opinion...best of luck to yall..

 

They should replace the whole quarter panel. Mine wasn't nearly that bad on my old T/A and they replaced it for me;

Nate, that sucks. I would definately be on the look out for a white car at the gym.

My T/A goes in Monday, so we will see how it goes. The insurrance adjuster did say that a complete quarter would be figured after some back and fourth pleading. The only thing that he did not want to do is to replace the roof. From what I hear, even the body shop, is that the roof will break and that a complete quarter cannot be put on unless the roof comes off. Trust me, I want the roof to come off and have the roof and quarter replaced. The body shop acted like it was no biggie, if the roof breaks when they remove it then they will get a reinspection from the insurance company to include that in the work. Hopefully everything goes well.

 

They'd better fix it right! It's not your fault and the car was in great shape before the incident, it better get fixed like nothing happened.

 

Do it with his wife, then kill him.
