Default My 30K T/A was hit today, now what?

Some guy backed into my T/A today while I was checking progress on a truck that I have in the shop. Not my day. Anyways, he had a duramax and cut the wheel and backed right into my quarter, pushing the car back and over like 4ft.

Do you think that there is any type of drivetrain issues that may turn up later? It was in gear (6 spd) and no e-brake.

I would like to have the entire quarter panel replaced, do you think that is justifiable?

Will the sail panel have to come off to replace the quarter? I have the bubbles and might as well get that fixed too ehh?

Who is the most qualified to do this repair? It sucks because I'm only driveing my T/A because my truck is in the shop. I'm very picky about it.

Thanx for any help on this. I'm trying to stay calm.

Shoot him...THEN hang him!

From the looks on the picture, it looks very fixable. Any shop should have no problem fixing that.

If it had alot of miles i would part it or buy a roller, however due to the fact of the mileage i would go through the trouble of replacing the 1/4... You just have to find the right person to do it... and do it right.

Looks like it probably pushed in the inner sheep metal (where the back speakers are attached) as well. That might make the repair more difficult. How does someone manage to push you 4ft without noticing?

Good luck with the repair. That particular panel is actually welded to the body and will have to be cut out and rewelded for a proper fix. Good luck on ever having a car that wont creak again.

Cutting and welding in a new panel wouldnt hurt or cause it to creak.

Besides its a Fbody.. Its gonna creak anyway

Yeah lol. It took a lot of restraint on my part to stay calm.

My T/A actually did creak before, just a little when it's extremely hot out.

He did get the door with his big diesel exhaust pipe. : ( Got some deep gouges and a dent in the lower part of the quarter.

Thanx for all of the replies. I've been on here for a while, just gathering info and just recently registered. All of the info, help, and encouragement is very much appreciated.

It will be an easy fix for a skilled body shop. Just go to a few of the quality bodshops in town and talk to them.

ive seen worse get pulled and fixed...
a quarter replacement is not a easy nor cheap job to do on these cars. my old camaro was hit in the bottom of the quarter panel and in much worse shape and i still would of only had to get a new skin so you should be able to that fixed without much drama as long as the inside wasn't beat up too bad.

Man, I seriously just cried now....Just thinking about something like that happening to my Comp TA drives me up the walls. What worse is I have seen people do this in wal mart then drive off. People need to take ******* responsibility for their actions. No wonder so many kids these days are **** ups. Their parents are also! Ok...1234---4321 now that im doing ranting, Get it replaced, there is no damage to the door from what I can tell. So just have a shop fix it. And I do hope his insurance is paying for it. To move your car that far he must have

1 been haulin ***
2 not payin the **** attention to were he was going in reverse
3 slow reaction time from gas pedal to break
