Default Flat black SS hood and spoiler?

I have a factory SS hood and rear SS spoiler for my car. I was thinking of painting them flat or semi gloss black to match the berger mod. It's cheaper and I don't have to worry about matching or blending. I found this pic and it kinda inspired the idea. Anybody got pics of the hood like that or other pics of a spoiler?

i think it would look really good, you 1) get some tint on the windows. pretty dark all the way around. 2) also paint the rest of the trunk hatch satin black as well. i think that could look pretty nice. cant remember his name, but someone one here with a white camaro had the spoiler black like that too, i'll see if i can find it.

I don't like it. It just looks like those ricers trying to fake the funk of a carbon fiber hood/trunk.

I wouldn't do it.

Yeah, I would have to agree with matching to body color......don't buy it yet if you can't do it right, just wait and save up.

the thing is, you cant just throw a black hood on the car and call it a day. it just won't work. like everyone has said, it just looks like you couldnt afford to paint it. to make it look more planned, you should consider doing more to incorporate the black theme into the car. maybe do the whistler mod, or get some black halos, get some smoked corners. tints of coarse, possibly even the windshield- to really black out the top half of the car. but still, its a hard look to pull off because it really just doesnt flow well with the car.

^i think you took what i said completely wrong. never said i dont like flat black paint, if i could repaint my car again, and knew that it wasn't going to be a hassle of a paint job to uphold, i would get every vehicle i own painted flat black, or satin. thats like the meanest color you could possibly do.

and in a general sense, i dont have anything against the black hood on a different colored car, IF the lines of the car allow for it. quite frankly, the 4th gen cars just dont really have the body lines to pull it off, IMO.

The berger mod looks good but I think everything else will be to much but it's your car and I might change my mind when I see the pics if you do it. But goodluck with everything....

Don't just tell me show me man.

I think I may go with the wing semi to match the berger and paint the hood to match the car. I want the manta stripe on the hood in semi black.

Just to clarify, the pic is not my car, but one I found here.

On your color, yes. Although I would consider only painting the top of the spoiler rather than the entire hatch...
Also consider painting the manta scoop matte black and the rest of the hood maroon. That would be a little less original, but would flow better IMO

I don't really like how the white one above looks. It looks like the hood belongs on a different car. And the black one above just looks unfinished as if he ran out of money to finish painting the hood. Don't get me wrong, they both look like nice cars, but would look sooo much better if the hoods were painted. Just opinions

ALTHOUGH I think you could pull it off on your car

Here are a few pics of my 93 Camaro. I dont have the spoiler painted black but I did paint the hood with black basecoat/matte clear coat. The pics with the red side mirrors are how it looks now. I would love to get a manta stripe on the hood like in the last pic, but I messed up painting it (paint didnt stick) and I cant find a decal to match the paint.
