Default 93-97 Trans Am hood "vent" removal?

I have a 95 T/A, and will be painting the hood soon. I'm wondering if those stupid fake "vents" near the front of the hood pop out?

they must. i've seen them for sale somewhere. I'd guess there are bolts holding them in from the underside of the hood. you probably have to remove the hood liner to get to them.

Yeah, that's about what I figured. Hmm, anyone know if it'll damage the paint to have that stuff under the hood missing? If I rip it off, I'm probably not going to replace it

I doubt it. My oem WS6 hood which i put on a couple years ago doesn't even have a hood liner on it.

You can remove them without taking out the liner.

she's talking about the non ws6 vents where they are a part of a panel that bolts to the hood. i know what you're referring to about the vents on a ws6 just popping out since i now have that hood, but the op is referring to the non ws6 hood.
