just curious, do you know how much of the door was taken apart for paint? i know the interior paneling and all, but was the glass and all removed? I'm trying to figure out what all needs to come out to remove the window sweep, since i know that needs to come off to paint the door, and from the looks of it, it would be pretty hard to remove that with the glass still in. also, do they replace all of the weather stripping, or can you reuse the stuff that was already there.

I'm gonna be doing a little painting, just gotta figure out how to disassemble all of the little things. I know you're not doing it yourself, but from the looks of it, you know whats going on with the car and what they're doing with it.
All the wiring was removed(of course) to remove the doors. door panels were removed and the inside of the door masked off where the panels had been. All the window guts were left in and the window was up when painted. When he taped off the outside off the door the rubber molding was pulled up(taped) for paint. I don't know how the door handle and lock come out, so not sure what all he took out.. I didn't have any molding or weather stripping replaced, my car only has 19K on it and all that stuff is still like new.. Hope that helps? If I can answer any other questions, feel free to ask, I'll do my best to answer..

The finish looks great, nice and deep. Did the color match good with the panels being sprayed differant? They look good in pics but it's hard to tell.

Everything looks exact so far. I know he did drop coats and let it flash before spraying to help with the consistency(metal flake)between panels. Had some flake stand up on the drivers fender so it's being redone. I am very impressed so far.. I can't wait to see it outside, then we'll know..

Looks very nice! It appears that the painter is old school and stuff uses the old fashioned polishing steps and probably uses that 3M stuff. Meguairs has a compound/polish combo (105 and 205)....and it will take 1500 grit scratches to a mirror, 100% swirl free finish in 2 steps!

99.9% of the car repainted $3500 complete. Includes engine bay, Blackbird Stripes, CETA and some other odds and ends for the engine bay(lower airbox, brackets, etc).. From what I've read around here I think I got a pretty good price. Paint and clear is BASF..

Me either. Hopefully end of next week.. Got 1 step closer today, got her running again. She hasn't been started since Sept, I had removed the main harness and some other stuff so the painter could do the bay easier.. Hooked everything back up and the bitch fired up like I had just driven it earlier in the day!!

Did you mean you were doing the CETA mod, or that you have a CETA that was going in for touch up?
