Default New paint is coming along...

Pewter Metallic, 1st coat of clear. I can't wait to see this thing done! Also having the CETA done and Blackbird stripes painted on.

The T/As don't have black roofs anways...

Is this a color change or just repaint of the same color? Reason I ask....pewter usually isn't a color people change to. Looks good though!

Car was pewter metallic. Repaint is Pewter metallic, but it's a little different than stock.. It seems brighter, if that makes sense.. Also has more metal flake, but not overpowering.

Doors, hatch and mirrors were in the booth today..

Bumpers/fenders are done(not wetsanded or buffed yet though):

3 coats. Might run by the shop today and see what's going on. He's gotten motivated to finish it.. I'm ready to cruise, I haven't even heard it run since September.

Thanks guys, had that done 2 years ago.. New painter did some touch ups on it. Only reason car is being repainted is because the last shop botched a partial paint..

This is how it looked last year, sticking with the same paint scheme, thought about changing it up, but really liked this look..

Looks good so far, hope it matches though. High metalic colors should be sprayed together with parts on the car, otherwise the metalic will lay differant and can cause the paint to not match.

We'll see in a couple weeks. I wondered about that too, but been assured it will match.. If not, guess he will be painting the car after it's back together..

Good choice on the color. I think that is one of the best color ever to hide normal driving wear. Great looking ride

Thanks again guys. Yep, the pewter def keeps a clean look. My car is not a DD either though, so it rarely gets too dirty anyways.. Should have some new pics later this week, early next week..

Doors and mirrors have been painted and cleared.. Doors are going on tonight or tomorrow. Here are the doors, they have not been wet sanded or buffed yet. He was working on the rear 1/4 while I was there, 1st pic is of the one that is pretty much done.

Little more progress.. Crappy pics, think my camera is dying, or I need to clean the lens.. lol I'm not a paint guy, but was talking to Chris(painter) and he explained how he was finishing the paint, he used 4 different pads and 3 different compounds.. I watched him while he was doing it, was neat seeing the transition as he used the different pads..

coming along very well. its gonna look great when done. you can't go wrong with pewter!

just curious, do you know how much of the door was taken apart for paint? i know the interior paneling and all, but was the glass and all removed? I'm trying to figure out what all needs to come out to remove the window sweep, since i know that needs to come off to paint the door, and from the looks of it, it would be pretty hard to remove that with the glass still in. also, do they replace all of the weather stripping, or can you reuse the stuff that was already there.

I'm gonna be doing a little painting, just gotta figure out how to disassemble all of the little things. I know you're not doing it yourself, but from the looks of it, you know whats going on with the car and what they're doing with it.
