Default Painting Radiator Support?

Just got a new radiator support from a member on here, i painted the current one i have on the car but now there's spots that are chipping and looks like the heat may be eating up the clear coat as im seeing a hazy type of look on it in certain places. So my questions would be....

What paint should i use that will withstand the heat under the hood?
Should i use a primer or not?
Is there a certain clear coat to use or will any clear work?

I sanded mine smooth then used filler primer to perfect it, sealer primer to seal that, then regular paint and clear..Dupont actually. Don't have any hazing, peeling or other problems.

I've been thinking about doing this also. What grit sand paper? Where can I pick up the filler/sealer primer?

dont use the stuff in a can, nothing beats a GOOD 2 part primer.

The inside of engine compartment used a different paint than the exterior.
there should be no clear on it.
Why are you replacing the core support?thats welded in.

Im replacing the radiator support, the piece that the air lid sits on and the piece you cut up when doing the free ram air mod. That's what ill be painting and its not welded on to anything, you might be thinking of something else.

The propper term is 'Radiator Support' as it (gasp) supports the top of the radiator. It is plastic and comes textured black from factory. The 'Core Support' is the metal support which the radiator support, hood latch and more bolt to.

I used a 150 grit sanding sponge initially. Purchased at Wallyworld. Then used a filler primer (in a car) sanded with 320 grit. Primer and paints I got from O'reilly's. I also clear coated it and buffed it.

It's for sale BTW. Silver.
