Default worth fixing? c5 vette

Just bought a 2001 c5 corvette for what I thought was a good price. The car is a one owner and besides the obvious damage it is in awesome condition in and out. It was hit pretty hard in the front and was salvaged. The front frame rail is slightly bent causing the fender on the the other side to mis-align. My question is, how much $$ am i looking at to get this car looking and driving "decent"? The suspension seems unharmed other than the upper a-arm. Airbags are both deployed.

i dont know why a good body shop couldnt straighten out for you pretty reasonably. depending on what you bought if for it could have been a great purchase. only problem i see is that in texas you can only get liability coverage on a salvage title. care to share what it cost you?

I am going to try to do as much of the work as I can with little experience installing new fenders, bumper, minor body work. Leave the big work to the body shop. If I would have less than 10k into this car I'd be pleased

Well It doesnt appear I have any now, I have heard a lot of electrical issues with salvaged cars, fortunately I think the damage is light enough that I wouldnt have to worry about that stuff. Im nervous about the airbags, from what I know these need to be dealer installed to pass inspection

That looks like about a 6-8,000 hit to me shooting from the hip. You can defiantely save some $$ gathering up the parts yourself used from the forums and specialty salvage yards.

You can probably get a good shop to spray the front clip and blend the door for about 1,000. Most frame shops have a 4 hr minimum, I'd expect the frame work to cost you $200-400

I'd part it out persoanlly. Youll make a profit doing so.. then you can take that $$ plus whatever yould dump into this one to fix it, and buy one that doesnt have a salvage title. If it werent for the salvage title it'd be worth fixing IMO but theres just too many inexpensive C5s already out there to mess with one thats branded as such.

Whatever you do.. good luck with it!

I'm getting mixed opinions. The biggest thing to me is the strength and integrity to the frame after repair. Also I read that some repair shops will refuse to straighten because of the strength and after effects. I basically have until tomorrow to decide If I will hold on to the car or give it back to the place I bought it from. :/
