buffing with a drill?
i have a noob question. my front bumper is messed up, swirls, light scratches, stains bla bla you name it. i was thinking of using a drill with pads to buff it out, my question is what drill to use? should i maintain a specific rpm? or use full rpm? should i use wool pads? and what buffers to remove swirls? if it worked am going to do the whole car since swirls are getting on my nerves. OR forget the whole thing and get a buffer machine? advises please. thanks..

Forget it.. the pads would be way too small and it would be a total pain to regulate the speed. The pads would also likely not be something good for a beginner to start using.
Get a Porter Cable kit and some pads and call it a day.

I don't think that'd be too good for the drill either. And it sure wouldn't be easy to control. Go to Harbor Freight and get one of their variable speed buffers. It comes with everything you need except the polish compound. It's what I've been using and it works great. And it's like $35 or something like that. Look thru a Popular Science or Popular Mechanics magazine for the HF coupon page, there's often a 20% off coupon..
