I added some of the the "plasti-dip glossifer" to her previosly done grills
gloss on top regular on bottom. the white is a reflection not a flaw
both done

and for comparison this is the grill when I first did them. Did one first to see if she wanted them done. So you can see how they looked untouched as well
I also got the "silver metallizer plasti-dip" but it wasnt what I thought it was. I was expecting a silver metallic but it is more of a clear with silver flakes in it. You can get this stuff in all kinds of colors.

This is as good a place as any to share my Plasti-Dip experience.
I did my stock wheels in black. I knew going into it I may not like it but thought I could always place a few layers of either paint or PD in another color. Black wheels on a black car, in my opinion, is tough to pull off. I bought a few cans of PD Glossifier in case they came out too flat and contrasted too much with the car's shiny black.
Results/opinions
I did these a side at a time. I found the PD really covered-up my errors, but results are dependent upon technique and distance. The first set, I did not know what to expect and noticed after drying the results were dull and textured. On the second set, I decreased my spray distance and it came out much more smooth and not textured. Additionally, although each have 4 coats, the 2nd set is thicker, more "vinyl", and more durable. I noticed this while screwing on the lugs where the vinyl was adherent and ripping (under the covers, so I did not care given it was out of sight) versus flaking off on the first set.
At the end of the day, if you notice it textured while spraying and that is not your goal, move closer. Even one layer of textured is not going to harm the final look given the correctability of the PD. I did these with the wheels off so I could also paint the calipers and rotor hats. I thought it would look shitty leaving those things untouched.
Not similar lighting, but hopefully you see what I mean. I will lay another coat or 2 on the "bad" wheels, applied in the same fashion I did the "good" wheels. I will leave it that way for a week or so and then judge if I want to use the Glossifier.
All-in-all a great, very affordable, and easy product to work with and I will do more with it. Thanks to those who contributed to the FAQ.

IMO Black wheels have to have 2 requirements to pull off the black color
1. 18" or larger
2. Gloss finish
3 (optional) a polished or chrome lip
I PD'd mine and took it off within the week. Wasn't a fan. Wife didn't like them on her C6 either.
But I support anyone changing the look of their car if THEY like it.

I'm pretty much of the same opinion. It's not hitting me like I thought it would. However, I tried to see how easy it was to get the stuff off & it literally took me all of 5 minutes to strip it back to full chrome with no residuals.....so I am going to do all 4 wheels & drive it around for a day or 2 to see if it changes my mind. Pretty nice to have a product that's so easy to get on & take off to try stuff like this.

If you guys are interested in trying to dip a whole car or want a video demo of the glossifier or any other product like the dip washer, I would suggest going to dipyourcar.com and watching the videos he has. There are a lot and show how they do very little masking and use the body lines to break up the dip, and even leave the wheels on no problem.

Just picked up some of this stuff today. I'm going to do the "ram-air" center section of my WS6 hood. I had painted it black; using black primer and then a flat black spray paint, but I wasn't happy with it, as you could see spots and some parts appeared darker than others. I sanded off all the black paint, so now it's back down to the original color, so the plan is to spray the plasti-dip down and see how it turns out. From everything I've seen and read, this stuff is far more "forgiveable" than spray paint. I'll get some pics posted up once I'm finished.
