Going for gold.
Going for gold. Hi guys, I am trying to pick out the perfect gold to paint my 90 Camaro and I think I have come across the one I like the most. It's mixed by Top Secret and they charge apparently $900 for 2 quarts. That's a little steep for me, so I was wondering if anyone here knew of a gold that matched this one, or if they knew of a Gold that would work with an additive in the clear like Pearl.
I've been looking at Inca Gold Pearl, but its a bit off than above.
There's the 1969 Olympic Gold.
Would I maybe be able to have a pearl put in the clear coat to make it lighten/pop a bit more like the skyline above?
I'm a complete noob when it comes to paint, take it easy on me! (If it means anything, I will more than likely just have a shop paint the car for me.)

Way too dull for me, would fall more in line with the Inca.

Go to a automotive paint store or the shop that's painting it n ask to look through the color chips. Theirs a ton of gold colors from every manufacturer,after you pick your color you can have them add more pearls or what-not.just make sure they write down the additives n the amount they used in case you have to do any future repairs.
the 2010 ford color above is gorgeous in sunlight....totally different from the 2011 blaze yellow too ...I feel like the SGM in the thread you posted is a victim of semi-poor photography, check my last thread with new wheels on my SGM for reference...that Top Secret color is baller though!
Regulator: That color does look really good... I wonder if a light gold pearl clear would help settle the yellow down.
Sinister Z28: I can do that just as well from the internet, where I literally have every manufacturer's paint chips at my fingertips... but I've looked through the golds and the one I want costs way more than I like. So my next plan is to see if anyone else has tried this color, or seen a variation.

I also am trying to limit the yellow, IE when it hits a certain light it looks yellow. The Skyline up top looks light-brown. Maybe that's where I should look..

I must admit, the more and more I see that color out in the light I begin to like it even more.

Theirs a big difference in looking at the colors in person n on a screen,like how coarse the metalics are how it flops in the sun ect. I would highly recommend looking at real paint chips and go from their.you can add pearls to the clear but only up to 10%.like 1 oz of pearls to 10 oz of clear, but make sure the painter has done it before because they will need to keep it stirred up in the cup often so it won't be streaky.they can make a spay out card with the color you choose n the pearls added to the clear to make sure you get the color/look your after.
