Default Sand off Bird on Nose of car??? need opinions...

The Trans-Am got scraped up the other day by someone. His insurance is taking care of damages. Most of the damage was on the driver side front fender but the nose got slightly scratched. So anyways both parts are gonna need to be re painted.

Ive seen some firebirds in person that have had the bird shaved off and it looked pretty good, but still not sure. Should i have it sanded off for a cleaner look or keep it?

if your talking about the nose bird then it shouldn't be a part of the bumper. It should come off with a heat gun and carefully prying it off.

Yep, they come off with some heat and some prying.

Thanks for the chop. I like it. I didn't know it just peeled off. Thought it was molded with the fender. Good to know. Probably gonna be a last minute decision. Still can't make up my mind. Lol

No prob! By the way, beautiful bird you have there! I had a 97 Trans Am in Mystic Teal, I miss that car every day and still kick myself for selling it!

Take it off, looks much cleaner. Be prepared for a fight however, mine refused to come off and left some of the toughest residue behind. I still have a faint outline from removing mine.

Try to clay bar that area after removal, that should help a lot to get rid of the tough residue.

ya then use a little hand polishing compound to clean it up, unless you have a buffer, then use that of course

I like the bird on there. I'm on my 3rd OEM bumper and each time had the insurance company put the oem decal back on (it is a seperate decal, it's not moulded into the bumper cover) because to me, it just doesn't look right without it.

I removed mine as well several years back.

I used fishing line to peel it off.
