Do you think I'll be able to wet sand this out?

Was thinking 2000 grit wet sand, then compound and polish?

I'm not sure how it started. Bought the car 1.5 years ago and it was about half the size and has been getting bigger

it needs to be taken back down to the bumper and resealed then painted...It can be done but is normally more difficult with metallic paints..

look for a replacement bumper in the same color? That crack is gonna get bigger because of the tension on the paint. It wants to crack and as air/dirt/moisture get inside it, it will most likely continue to grow. You can try to sand just the crack down and about 1/2" past it then try to blend it yourself... it wont be perfect but it will look better than a crack.. dont try the touch up pen, you will not like the results...

I would start at 1500 and give it a try. If you could find some touch up paint that matches you could fill up the crack/scratch and then wet sand.

Yeah I think I'm gonna try.

But with the touch up paint, won't it look wierd if I fill it in then wetsand without putting clear on it? Or would polishing make it look like there was clear

your car is 1SA silver it looks like.. the metallics will not lay the same and no matter what you do, that touch up pen will make the paint pool up and swirl.. it will fill it but will NOT blend/match.. I promise you... You would have better luck using Duplicolor or Paintscratch in a can and blend the bumper... then go over it with 800k lightly with soapy water then reclear and buff it by hand... I have done it that way and have had very good results... THE PAINT PEN WILL NOT WORK ON METALLIC PAINTS... I think I have a picture of a part that I fixed after the owner tried to touch it up...

Yeah that's too big of a section for touch up paint, I agree wasn't gonna try that.

Just curious about wetsanding then polishing

the paint has come away from the primer or bumper.. sanding will only make it so thin it will just break like a potato chip...it will require sanding down to the bumper and about 1/2" further.. then respray...

I can not really see how large your crack is but you might fill it in let it dry and repeat the process a few times. Paint always shrinks a little when dries. Make sure the paint is higher than the bumper paint and try a little wetsanding. What is it going to hurt? It has to look better than a crack.

If it last a year or two great. Your not out but a couple bucks.
