93' Firebird Formula Paint Job
Well, I just joined this forum, i've been posting my build log of my car on multiple car audio forums but now I need to post it on here, my goal with this car is to turn it into a really fast street car that looks great, and sounds good and loud (engine and audio). The car was given to me for free by my uncle since he didn't need it anymore, 87,000 original miles, only one owner before me, the car needed a paint job, and an a/c compressor, first thing I did was the paint job which my dad did for me enough talk onto the pics.
Before anything was done to the car.

trust me, tint will be the first thing done to it when I get start my job next week, i'll be blacking out the tail lights and side markers, and last thing will be rims and tires, then lowering it. I'm not quite sure what size rims and tires to do though, was think 19x11.5 in the back and 18x10.5 in the front but I think it would rub in the front and i'd need to tuck the wheel well in the back, i'm sure someone else can correct me if they've done it on their firebirds.

Both sizes on the width are to large probably unless you get a narrowed rear and all suspention upgrades, look in the wheel n tire section and do a search before buying rims for size and back spacing for rims your interested in. Just update when you get it done with pics!
Side note - keep in mind the price of tires on the different sized rims also, big wide tires are pricy.Good luck.

yessirr we do, the car has been painted for the last month but we've been sanding the clearcoat with 1000, 2000, and 3000 grit sand paper, so far we've polished the hood, spoiler and the whole right side of the car, it makes a world of a difference, my dad was kinda scared of having the paint drip on the doors so he went kind of light on the last clear coat which made the paint look a bit porous on certain areas of the car in person but with the cut and polish it's a damn mirror, i'll post some pics of progress tomorrow.

thanks man, i'm going for that clean/agressive look on it, I took all the stickers and trims pieces off, shaved the antenna, and I plan on smoking out the side markers and tailights the proper way, dark tint, and rims and tires, should look decent.

I color samded to 1500 then broke out the buffer with some good compound.
You will be impressed when you get done.

Well I got some more work done on the car today, the whole left side is 100% cut, polished, and waxed with liquid wax but I forgot to get a picture of the entire side, and I blacked out the tail lights, they are pitch black in person but only lost about 20% visibility.
First coat of VHT nightshades
2nd coat of VHT nightshades, looks shiny because paint was still wet
Did a little test to see how visible they are and to my surprise they are still very visible
Here they are finished with 2 coats of clear coat, clear was 100% dry in this picture btw
