Default Hot rod flat black

Anybody have their car professionally done? What was the total cost? Thinking about doing my 00 camaro this color and adding vintage hot rod pinstripes. I'm an old school Guy.

Thanks in advance.

It'll cost the same as a total repaint.

It is impossible to tell you something like this. You will have to get the shop to tell you.

There are kits called "Hot Rod Black"
Not quite satin and not quite flat. Middle ground.

My elcamino took 3 kits at $109 a piece. No door jambs and I did all of the disassembly. I was quoted $600 total (~250 for paint labor). Found some other waves (I verified) and they were fixed. Total came to $1000 even.

Thanks, got any pics of your ride? I know price is contingent on shop, just looking for the average. I thought they would be less $$ than clear coats, candies etc.

It will be a little less, but the majority of the hours you pay for are in the prep work. Actually shooting the paint doesn't take that long, ya know.

Are you going to take it their ready to just be wiped down and sprayed with any body work and all the sanding completed?

If you did that and then are just using a single stage satin paint I would imagine you could get a nice paint job for a pretty good price.

you can also get john deere blitz black, which i think costs around 25 bucks a gallon. It's a nice hot rod black, but obviously you can never buff the car because you will get swirls all over the car and ruin the paint.
This is the color on an old camaro. http://www.fordification.com/myproje...JDBBCamaro.jpg

No. I do plan to do SS stripes on a cowl hood but that is it. Not a fan of pinstriping unless it is a <60s car. ****** all need nice pinstripes

personally id rather flatten a clear and put on one instead of a single stage black. you get a little better uv protection if its gonna stay outside. it still wont last as long as a regular clear but will hold up better then a single stage. just my 2 cents, lol.
i do it for a living.
