Default Rockauto SS hood

Hello guys, I have been lurking a while on this forum while recently starting my salvage rebuild of a 2000 Camaro Z28 with 40,000 miles.

The original hood was dented pretty bad on the front corner and as I was looking for a replacement I came across several SS fiber glass hoods from different vendors.

I eventually decided to go with Rockauto but I couldn't find much information or pictures on it. Priced at $400, $500 shipped, I assumed this wasn't a cheapo build quality so I went with it on a gamble.

To anyone considering this hood, I would have to say so far I am impressed. The quality of it is really good compared to most other after-market hoods I have seen. And it was shipped with a box inside a bigger box to protect it.

Fitment was 99% spot-on, took some patience with the hinge bolts, but the end result is a nice hood ready for painting. Oh and the scoop is functional.

Overall I am satisfied and wanted to help anyone else doing a forum or Google search on this hood. I snapped a few pics:

Looks great! Would you mind snapping some shots of the gaps between the hood and fenders? It would help those who are really comparing different hoods/companies.

Thanks for doing this!

Looks good OP. May have to look into one once I get all my stuff together for my car to tear it down and rebuild it.

Yes when I get it back from my painter I will take those shots.

Well it took me 2 hours just to rip the ground effects off, and they were concealing some dented rocker panels. Gotta work on those now. The spoiler is the RKSport "Super Wing" and its bolted straight through the factory spoiler. I never really cared for it personally but I actually receive compliments on it. But yeah, I'm gonna hack it off, and fill the holes soon.

I love rebuilding but I think I may keep this car.

Any update. I'm looking for a hood other than my basic Z28 hood.
