Most accedents i recomend a frame level check, and as far as body goes the most complex will be the rear driver quarter panel, those have to be cut and welded. might open the trunk and pull the carpet back from the taillights and check for any damaged pushed in to it.

This is fixable with a little bit of time and money, i have seen alot worst with these F-Bodys. Glad she held up this well

totaled is a dollar amount, usually if the damage is over 65 percent of the value they total it. that car is an easy fix just depends on what they value it at.

If it was both sids like that I would say yes because that's how I totaled my Camaro, but I don't think that will be deamed as totaled.

I don't think so - they didn't total this:

Total repair bill was $6200. Happened in Aug 2012. Needed a new quarter, bumper, inner structure on the quarter and bumper, fill panel, taillight. Also needed to repaint the front bumper and blend into the front fenders (I was thrown into the car in front of me due to the impact).

OP from the looks of your pics, seems like all you would need would be a tailight, complete quarter panel and bumper and the other accessories underneath the bumper. Are they considering it totaled yet? that doesnt look like a total loss to me. Wait and get an estimate and go from there.

They may try to total it. that could easily be a 3-4k or more repair job by a reputable shop. If you dont want the car totalled dont be afraid to bicker with insurance. (assuming this is an insurance claim) Insurance is going to want to get out of the game as fast and cheap as possible, thats their business model. They are very used to being able to push people around. In Texas we have pretty good protections against bad insurance if you know what they are. I see your in Cali and am not sure what yall have going for you. But I have dealt with this many times and seen alot of car owners that got shoddy repairs or lost out big time on being "totalled" by insurance.

Here is mine:

Insurance company totalled it out. It was a 98 with 220,000 and they gave me about $6K and the title, so I traded it to a friend for a paint job on its replacement. Car drove fine, and the friend had the frame straightened. Sheet metal is still not right, but better than in the photos.

@Atrus SS... That was a damn hard hit. Im surprised insurance didnt make that salvage, totalled or something. Thats a big bill.

Before the insurance adjuster came out to actually see the car, he was telling the body shop they'd just total it. I don't think he "got it" - it's a 69k mile VERY clean SS car. He was picturing a 13 year old beat up Camaro. When he actuallt saw the car he told them "oh, no way we can pay out to total this..." and we got the green light on a repair.

Definitely wasn't fun times trying to figure out whether or not the thing would be repaired or totalled - my stress level was a little high.
