What color is this? I'm pretty big into the plastidip community.
I did my truck in the passion orange pigment, plan on reproducing the cts-v thunder gray chromaflair in a flat version on my SS.

I thought it might be and was hoping it wasn't. You do know the issues with this color right? It will be faded and a dull sherbert orange in a week or so.
Here's a month after dipping what it faded to for reference
Also as you get better at applying it you can get it smooth without any texture. And yeah you basically need a base coat of gunmetal or black always.

Nope, they actually stopped recommending firebelly orange for cars and they made a new color called "koi orange" that doesn't fade.
On DYC.com and other forums they have a warning now saying prone to fading very quickly with exposure to sunlight.
BUT since you already have all those layers, the more the better. You could probably buy one gallon of the koi orange to cover all of that.

It depends on if you buy pre-thinned gallons, thin them yourself, etc. etc. And it is rated for 3-5 years from Performix in UV light.
I bought the gun and 12 gallons of dip and it cost me around 450$. That's enough to dip 3 cars. I also got all gunmetal and clear gallons, because you can mix pigments/pearls/flakes/etc and get any color with clear.
