Default Painting wheel wells?

Hi i have a black 98 trans am with fresh paint and the wheel wells looks like they have seen their better days. The wheel wells stay gray no matter how much cleaning i do. So my question is has anyone painted the front plastic wheel wells? Backs arent an issue just figured the fronts may flex and cause the paint to crack. Just wondering if anyone has done it. Thanks

You might still be able to get replacement liners from GM. I don't know how well paint would hold up over the long term because, as you said, they are flexible plastic and subject to impacts from road debris slung off the tires. I'd first look to get new ones.

I went to the auto parts store, and found a rubberized undercarriage spray. I used it a few weeks ago on my inner wheel wells for the same purpose. It says it's flexable, so we'll see how it holds up. Just a thought.

Maybe plastidip could be an option.

I have, used Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch® Ultra Cover 2x semi gloss black. Normally I do not like their paints, but this stuff rocks. It bonds to plastic and can spray up side down. Just make sure the plastic is clean. So far it has not cracked or chipped and is a breeze to clean. Its really black and disappears nicely.

just an idea, but what about trying that "wipe new" stuff meant for tires (not there normal plastic or headlight renewal ones) instead of paint that will likely flake off those fronts.

I suggest finding a silicone based dye. Get it blacker then the devils heart and let it permeate those wheel wells for an hour or two. But take the plastic all the way off the car, and don't leave it in sunlight during the time of application or cure.

Anyone have any idea what kind of plastic these are made of? When i played lacrosse we use to use rit clothing dye and it would dye the heads. They were made of a nylon plastic materal. It might work pretty good for these
