I have a Magg hardtop and I’m happy with the product. Shipping went well considering how large the box was. Disappointing to spend $1,300 to fix a problem caused by $2 of sealant.

I'm going to order one form iroc motorsports in the next few days. I have given up on the guy I found to fix the donor panel. He's been jerking me around for almost a year. On a simple panel repair and paint. I'll eat the cost of the donor panel. I'm into this panel for about the same cost as the iroc motorsports item.

So sorry to hear you're having problems with your roof guy. I always think these things only happen to me!

When I was looking for a panel MAGG had no phone number and did not return several emails. And that was BEFORE a sale / order.

https://irocmotorsports.com/product/...of-fiberglass/

I like what they have to say, and the price is fair. Hopefully it fits well. Does anyone have one of these panels? Does it fit OK?

My body guy had his glass guy install the panel for him, glass guys know how to use urethane glues the best...

Even when 6LE was selling the fiberglass replacement panels, people were saying they were needing finishing work, they were wavey and such. So I am expecting it to need some of this kind of work prior to painting. I just want this car finished.

It's the same panel regardless of trim level or model (they interchange between Camaro and Firebird).

4th gen Camaro ceased production in 2002, just like Firebird. Neither one is still being made, and this panel was discontinued by GM about ~15 years ago. There are no new or NOS OEM panels to order from any GM dealer or body shop. You can either get them used, or NOS from a private seller or independent business (if you're lucky enough to find one), or a new reproduction from the source mentioned above.

@JOHNNY59 are you still removing 93-97 panels and painting them?

I need one too.. What’s the way to go here?
IROC, MAGG, Duraflex? I wonder if they’re from all the same place in China?
Here is another recent thread on the matter and one guy says, “good luck getting one from Magg or IROC.” What’s the skinny? It says in stock. Are they not really or are they shady dealers?

"good luck getting one from Magg or IROC"

I've heard IROC is unreliable, and I tried emailing Magg several times without hearing back from them.

IMO, the BEST way to get a panel is from ANY 1993 to mid-1998 Firebird or Camaro.

There's posts on here what dates up to in 1998 are safe, or to be totally sure salvage a 1993 to 1997 roof.

Again IMO the safest method is to have the yard cut the whole assembly off.

Johnny59 showed me how he peels the metal layers off 1 layer at a time.

Piano wire methods can be hit & miss...

Even in 2024? Here’s what Houston’s Pull-A-Part inventory looks like for the Camaro. You also have to think what if they got hail damage while sitting out there the past 31 years. It seems like it’s almost a day late and a dollar short for used stuff since we’re talking about 27 year old cars.
