Hey Puncho 2001, you better be sure they will follow the bulletin because they might just repaint the old one which it not a long lasting solution.

The sun DEFINITELY worsens the problem.......luckily I have a carpet but use my car cover on those hot days when the car is exposed.

Sounds I know, but I don't have $1000 nor the patience to deal w/those idiots

Before I found this forum 2+ years ago I had some paint work done and my roof was bubbling so I had the body shop repair it. Everyone said it would come back and this weekend I had my car out in the sun and sure enough I have big bubble patches on the top of the sail panel. I guess I have zero chance of getting mine fixed for free as my car is a former flood vehicle. Sucks too as the car only has 26,000 miles on it. I guess I'll have to spend the money to have it fixed in the spring but I'm more worried that they won't do it right and the same problem will come back again in 2 years.

You need to buy a new piece and make sure they paint the underside of it with epoxy primer.

Anyone else seen this? It is sometimes hard to see, unless you are in direct sinlight. Headed to the dealership right now. Got about four in the area, so gonna check 'em till someone says "we will do it for free!"

I got the bubbling/oozing on the sail/roof panel, and I have the clear coat bubbling/peeling/oxidizing on the ramair hood (rear/driver side) which is very visible (approx 12 x 12 inch area) and looks like crap.

Not too impressed with the quality of other previous dealer waranty work and other damage that may occur (on my Mrs' GAGT they broke the injector harness connector and refused to replace it, they killed the battery which had only 2 years on it, and other various "misrepairs").

I'm debating myself whether to get it done or just forget it.

Default Phoenix Area????

Pontiac / GM is giving me the run around - Coulter won't do **** and Pontiac said I need to find a Dealer that will endorse it. I am the 2nd owner - but Coulter services the car - well maybe not anymore --- Big question is: are there any FBody owners in the Phoenix area that have encounterd this and found a dealer that will "fix" it??

Thanks in advance -

I actually saw the old roof panel. My roof still looks great, no oozing no bubbles.

I have this problem. I spoke to gm for a few hours and gave me the run around to. But she said they would like to help. Im waiting a call back from them.

The good part for me and the bad part for gm my sister works for primedia here in tampa for vette and mopar mags and she did a bunch of other mags. Her co-workers are high performance pontiac. So i already got a good letter writen up and aready sent to them.

I hope this makes it to all the mags and gm gets alot of phone calls on this issue. Let the people know and they will have to send out a recall on this. IM not sitting and waiting for gm to say no. And another thing those dumb *** dealerships play the dumb game while i had a 2001 camaro roof replaced and they said (we have know idea) I had my camaro's roof replaced here you dumb ***.

HEY mods make this a sticky why dont ya.

im sorry to tell you this but no it wont stop and get ready it gets worse the longer it sits in storage i know i got one like you that sets in the garage and im super pissed at pontiac about giving me the run around and all......i hope the letter works that 2001somws.6 is writing up everybody on this site 80% of 100% seems to have had or having this problem right now .....they deffinetly need to make this a recall instead of a bulletin for the gm/pontiac body shops.
