The bubbles in the roof were never recalled. Are you talking about something else?

Went back to page 38. What page is it on? If this was big news and "IF" GM really recalled it know one is talking about it.

I've read this whole thread and never saw anything about a recall number, think you mean the TSB. Not the same.

My b-day is on the 8th, it would be such a nice present from GM to a person from a family who only buys GM cars, if they would tell me go ahead and get the roof replaced free of charge. But somehow I just don't see that happening.
Hey Loyolacub68,

You get any response back yet?

Have not heard anything yet. The only people I have heard back from so far are the BBB. They claim since the vehicle is outside the 3yr/36k warranty that there is nothing for them to do since they don't deal with extended warranties.

I tend to file an appeal with the BBB. Since this is not an extended warranty, this is a warranty from the factory that GM is only applying to a select few. I think that violates fair business practices and the BBB should take action.

GM never calls me early, so I expect to hear from them on the 9th, if not they'll hear from me on the 10th.

Anyone else had the repairs done by your local body shop? What did the job entail and what did it cost?

Technical Service Bulletin, and I think $200 bucks is a little on the low end for this repair, sounds to me like they are not replacing the roof panel, which does not fix the problem.

I didn't have the repairs done, but two different shops quoted me $2300. Thats for a hard top, for the t-top I think 700 to 1000 is the norm.

question. im just starting to see some very small bubbles on my sail panel. its a black 02 TA, bought in 01. hasnt been daily driven since 02, garaged and covered, no rain/snow/intense sun, washed/waxed religously. should i look into getting this replaced, while i still have some warrenty left? or since it never sees elements, would it be alright to put it off? or do the elements have nothing to do with it, just time?

i would check into getting it repaired. it's just a matter of time before it gets worse. mine is kept in the garage and never driven and i have the problem.

If its under warranty go get it fixed, the problem only gets worse. I started to notice more of them forming after a while and now when its hot glue oozes out of the holes which makes a mess on a nicely cleaned car.

Looks like the dealership picked up the cost "GOODWILL"........what we need is a repair authorization # from Pontiac or GM citing the TSB.
