I didn't use a HVLP this time. I got lazy and didn't bust it out and ended up just going with semi-gloss black spray paint from Home Depot.

Would the 'fusion' paint work better since the bumper is plastic?

Im sure that it would. I figured I wouldnt care as much as this isn't an area of the car that is suseptable to alot of moving, nor is it a place thats easily hit.

Sorry, I didnt realize it was full, I just cleared some space and thanks for the good word. Anyway, to be honest, I completely forgot what kind of paint I used by now. Dupli-color acrylic should work just fine. Remember, its all in the prep. Take your time preping it and the painting is the easy part.

as good as this writeup is. It took me half as long and didn't require taking the bumper off. All you need to do is blue tape the area off and have a few layers of newspaper covering up to the taillights and over to the wheel wells. Scratch off the clear coat and follow what the rest of this says. Still a very amazing writeup and it def. gets it done

The bumper removal is just precaution for overspray. If you have a large enough cover you should cover the whole car, but I didnt so I just took the bumper off and painted it far away from the car. And I definately don't recommend only covering part of the car. Overspray, especially from a HVLP gun can take A LOT of work to get off.

But I'm glad it came out good for you. If you haven't already, you should post pics of it here.

No. You only clear if you want a deep glossy look. Clear is counter-productive to a flat paint. If you want a flat look, use a flat paint and no clear.

unless you're using a gun and go buy yourself some of PPG's Soft Touch Clear. it's a "flat" clear coat that still protects your paint from UV and also from scratches. the stuff feels soft like velvet, but it's hard as a rock. don't screw up when you're spraying it on though, otherwise you'll be sanding back down to the plastic to get it off.
just thought i'd throw that out there for anyone who would want to clear their panel - like i would - if i had a WS6.
