I recently got into a car accident a week ago. Did the CETA mod back in 2006 with a graphite grey on my NBM Car. Looked OK, but now since the guys insurance is going to replace my bumper I'm thinking of making it black. I've seen the Semi Gloss and some of the High Gloss, kind of leaning more into the high gloss just cause it looks more flush with the whole cars paint. However the guy at the shop said that making it look high gloss may make the piece look "fake" or more plastic looking. I'm not sure what he meant by that but from what I've seen on some of the cars posted in this thread, High gloss looks clean. He recommended doing semi gloss which does still have a gloss but not as much as straight up gloss. Anyone recommended a type for NBM? I'm not sure what I'll do, but I'll post the end results after everythings done.

I've seen an inverted CETA on here. Basically imagine your rear bumper with the CETA mod in bright yellow.

Sorry for the noob question, but if I remove the bumper to do this will it bolt right back up without having to adjust the panels to line up correctly? I don't wanna risk getting overspray everywhere so I'll probably just take the whole bumper off to do it.

It bolted right back up fine. Man that really makes the *** of a white TA look so much better! Taking off the bumper is a pita but was well worth it. No overspray on tue car and you can really get all the areas covered that you couldn't get as well if the bumper was on the car.

I just did a gunmetal ceta on my black T/A and I highly recommend taking the bumper off. It makes life a lot easier.

i wonder if plasti dip would work well on this?
ive plast dipped a few cars interior and exterior. ive found that it seems to go on choppy but smoothen out after a couple coats.... worth a try i guess worse case i peel it off...
im going to do this no doubt. just dont know when or what type of black ill use my wheels are gloss and my GS stripes are kinda gloss too. so ill probably have to hit it with flat and gloss it. i always get scared when using clear coat... dunno why.
this would be a great reason to buy that new air brush ive been wanting...

If you didn't fudge the edges too bad, you could always run to the hardware store and grab a $6 can of Plasti Dip to cover it up. Its not permanent, and peels right off. Pretty durable stuff too. I did my CETA with Plasti Dip and it turned out great.

Do you have any pics? What would be the harm in just redoing the whole thing? Just sand it off and try again.
