Default Trans am Hatch/ Rear bumper swap, with Silver CETA mod..

Just finished swapping out the parts and the before/after is amazing. I have always loved the aggressive look of the trans am's so I decided to swap the stuff over. Everything was pretty easy to do, I have to thank Formula_x for the tips that he gave me, it made the process alot smoother. I seen a picture on here of a Black T/A with the Silver CETA mod and fell in love with it so I decided to do it to mine. I still have to get the ground effects painted and mounted up. All in all I love it. Its cool, I know its the same car but now I look at it in a whole different way. I have to get some tires for my new wheels, and I'll be ready to rock. I cant wait for it to get nice out again so I can drive it

kevinclark09: I was the same way. I still love the look of a all black rear bumper, The person I got the hatch from gave me the bumper cover cheap because it needed to be fixed. It had a small tear right over the passenger side exhaust tip. I figured while I was working on it I would Try the silver out. I painted it myself, I used the "CETA Bumper: A How To " to paint it. I just took my time masking it and layed the paint down. I guess you could say the black/silver go good with my Dale Earnhardt Sr. theme. I was tossing the idea around of a thin red pinstripe between the black and silver. What do you think???

Hmm..i prefer the old look. I think the silver ceta looks out of place and i like the clean formy look.

I have all the old formula parts, I guess if the T/A look gets old I could convert it back to a Formula, LOL. Another thing I have to do is get new hatch struts, the T/A hatch is heavy as hell...

Looks awesome, great work! I remember when I put mine on, HUGE difference in looks. If you need help getting the T/A hatch on, I could give you some tips on that too if you want... it's not hard except for getting it to line up perfectly, which can be time consuming. Make sure you have T/A shocks though, because I'm using my Formula shocks and the hatch won't stay up, I'll have to swap them out one of these days.

Thanks for the compliments guys

JerseyLS1TA, At first I was iffy about it too, but its growing on me now.

CULATR: The silver looks better in person but it would probably look better with clear over it, I might do some test sprays on something and clear it to see how it would look. I also think that the red pinstripe makes it look better, I might cut some temporary vinyl so I can see how it looks on the car.

Formula_X : I got the T/A hatch on it now. I had my bro and my dad help me get it lined perfect, and like you said the formula struts dont work very well, LOL. Im gonna change those next.

Dimitri- : Your car looks pretty damn good in your sig pic.

SCRWS6: I must have got lucky. When we first put it on we needed to move it to the left just a little, then it lined up perfect.

IMJ: Not sure on the color. Its duplicolor bumper coating. From there website : "Dupli-Color® Flexible Bumper Coating renews and protects weathered or discolored bumpers, moldings and rub strips. This tough protective coating offers superior adhesion to thermoplastic rubber and polyurethane bumpers." Part # FB 106 Gray. I was torn between that color and actual silver paint. I think im gonna clear over it and see how it looks.
