Default Removing vinyl decals

I bought my car and it has silver vinyl stripes down the middle and now they look absolutely terrible since it was never clearcoated over the stripes. I want to take them off. Any easy way to get the vinyl off my car without hurting anything?

heat gun... but you have to keep the heat gun moving.. if you hold it in one spot it will burn the paint... so just use it in circular motions and work your way back the car... should work good...

it can be a medium setting... you only have to heat it enough to peel the vinyl off..

You will still have glue residue left, and if they are dry rotted the heat gun wont do a thing for you. Go to your local paint store and get some wax and grease remover and soak a rag hold it on a spot for like a min so it can absorb into the glue residue and start wiping it will start to come right off. Alcohol does the same thing.
