Default More progress pictures of Project "Not Hot Pink"

This whole thread about the white Camaro that was potentially painted hot pink was located in the appearance and detailing section. But since we are talking paint here....I figured this is the more proper place to post them.

So...without further BS....

It's a Lamborghini color, looks way brighter in day light.

More pics of the completed car to come....maybe with the owner standing next to it...but no promises

Manny

Yeah...do a search for "pink" or my name in the Appearance section and I am sure you will find some of the threads with her pic in it.

I saw that color on a lambo at a show recently. It looks awesome in the sun, you need to get some pics of that outside.

Yeah...that's the new color, the old color was white.

Those pics were taken after the car was initially painted and clear coated, using PPG paint, forgot what the name of the clear coat stuff was. The car was then wetsanded and buffed the following day...wasn't that a bit early? The paint looked to be pretty damn soft still, and the extension cord from the buffer put some light marks in it...so it was buffed again.... Now it looks pretty swirled up....what should be done to fix all that? Wait a month and rebuff and then polish and wax, or what's the best steps to take?

Thanks...

Baked...nope...no baking involved. Lets put it this way...there was no paint booth...just a shop...and the shop door was open when it was being painted.......

Ok, what color is the car called. I can't tell. I'm partially color blind so I thought it was pink at first.

You can wetsand it the next day, but the paint is still drying, and what is a glassy, shiny finish will dye back into a pebbly texture after ist sits in the sun a while. Definately better to let it sit a while(at least a week in the sun), but if they painted the car in a open shop they probably arent exactly master craftsmen.

Appreciate the help man.

I heard that you do some paint work too....and if you were to see this car up close, you might get a heart attack. Quite a few spots where he sanded into the base and covered it up with touch up paint, the front bumper has some weird looking round spot in it that's really hard to describe, almost like the ring caused by a wet glass sitting on a wooden table, just less apparent, and not perfectly round of course. He only charged her $1500, but man...what at first looked like a nice paint job (for the money) now looks hazy and swirly and full of little imperfections and touch up paint.
