Default T-Top Key

Not sure where to post this..but..my key will only unlock the passenger side t-top.

Of course..the seller says it never happened to him.

Strange.

But..it does not work, and it came locked. What do i need to do to get my key to work in it?

thats what i thought about mine at first too, passenger side opened up nicely but the driver side seemed like it was the wrong key. The key ended up being the right one, you just need to find the right angle and a little bit of effort...

It could be unlocked already and it just takes a little muscle to open the latch. (Thats how mine is)

The luck cylinder probably got tweaked because someone tried to open the latch with it locked. You can muscle them open and take it apart to inspect it. I don't even lock mine, because the locks are junk anyway.

So..it does not unlock with this key..i spent some serious time trying.

Are you saying..i should just pull the handle tell it opens (and i guess the lock or something breaks?)

Please dont pull the handle till it breaks, because you dont know what will break.... Dont you know some punk *** kid (like me heh) that knows how to pick locks? It is a very simple lock.... if anything you wanna force turning the lock open with a piece of metal, or take the assembly apart and manualy unlock it..

Find someone that can pick locks and just leave it unlocked.

I was gonna say it could be a different top but then how was it locked? would the previous owner really buy a replacement top, then have the key to lock it, then loose the key? wtf?

Yeah Ive heard quite a few stories about T Tops going flying.. Im pretty sure they're actually designed to go off to the sides of the roads because it's a fairly common thing.

Ive opened the T-top with it locked. It diddn't break. If you've ever taken one apart you would know how shitty the locks are.
