Think im gonna go with this paintjob... {photoshop}
Been kicking around ideas for a different paint job for a while now, but with my new hood finally on and needing paint i think now is the time to move on this. This is pretty simple and clean looking in my opinion and looks custom but not too overdone or gaudy. Gonna do the top part of the trunk lid in gloss black to match the center part of the superhawk hood in the same color.Gonna leave the bottom of the trunk lid below the body line stock red. I think it will look nice with the top, windows, trunk lid, and hood matching. im thinking about adding a matching pinstripe around the trunk lid to break up some of the black, like on the hood.
i am by no means a photoshop wizard but i did these really quick to get an idea of what it might look like
feelings ? opinions ? too much? not enough??

i agree with the black mirrors....should look alot better.
also, another suggestion...id like to see what it would look like if you finished off the black on the hood onto the bumper as well...on the nostrils. might look pretty decent.

currently working on photoshoping some of the suggestions mentioned above. mirrors, nostrils etc... anyone feel free to jump in and help with the photoshoping, i hate this crap! there are a bunch of pictures of my car here:http://s55.photobucket.com/albums/g150/coreydg/
For the person who asked about painting your car in photoshop, im not the best person to ask my skills are pretty weak. What i think is probably pretty quick and easy is to select the area you want to paint, copy it to a new layer, desaturate it, then adjust the color levels til you get something close to what you want. you could put real time into it and get the colors exact, but who really cares as long as it gives you an idea what it will look like in the end.
here are some quickies:
mirrors and nostrils on bumper
just mirrors
mirrors another angle
thanks for all opinions

I use Adobe Photoshop CS for photo editing. Photoshop is the best program out there, designers and photographers work with it everyday and still dont know all the things it can do. i have the newer CS2 but havent had time to learn the new features yet so i just stick to the older version that i know better.
Ok got my first quote for the paint from a local shop that has done collision work for my family before.
$400 for Hood
$325 for trunklid
-----$725 Total I didnt ask about the mirrors or nostrils when i was there because you guys hadnt mentioned that yet, but im liking it and gonna get a price for that at the next place i go.
i think that is really a fair price

here is a pic of a car here in Cincinnati, OH I know he was in one of the magazines a while ago. I can get you more info if needed. If you notice, his starts solid, then fades, and then back into solid.

Im not crazy about that paint job. too busy for me and probably most ppl would agree. im sure that thing would turn some heads tho, but for the wrong reasons...
ok so i went crazy again with photoshop and this is the result:
i know you love the terribly fake purge haha... but one day it will be real! so i've got it pretty much nailed down with what i wanna do. hood will stay as pictured above, center in black with pinstripe to the red on the corners. mirrors black, top of trunk lid from the groove around it up will be black, the rest of the trunk lid from the groove down will remain red. nostrils will be black. kicking around the idea of having them mold the front license plate cover and paint it to match. i smoothed it in the picture above but i dont think i like it.
