TA bumper replacement
Hey guys,
I'm getting a bumper, new foam, and the plastic pieces underneath replaced and painted (none of the above are currently on the car). Its for an 02 ta ws6.
My body guy says 600 for the front bumper and foam and 800 for the plastic pieces underneath.... That seems crazy. I know the bumper is probably a realistic price but why are the plastic pieces underneath so expensive. Is this right? I don't think he's lying because he told me that i could get away without it and that he wouldn't put them on if he were me because of the cost.
What do you guys think... i assume he is referring to the black plastic pieces that attach underneath the bumper.
Thanks in advance,
Ben

T/A bumpers are a real bitch to find, thats why I have a formula bumper. BUT they can be had for around 450 on e-bay used. the bumper support (the big black foam piece) is around 80 bucks wholesale, and the air damming you can get from ANY 93-02 f-body car V6 or v8 so check junk ayrds for those pieces.

Anyways, this is a huge help i do appreciate it. Can't believe those stupid little plastic pieces are so much to purchase new... will definitely be looking used.

Are those prices including the paint prep and paint/paint labor?
I had my front nose repainted - they removed the nose, hand block sanded for 8 hrs, primed/painted/cleared - then re-installed for $350.
So if your $600 price includes the actual front nose AND all the time/materials for painting then that's an excellent price.
Now $800 for the couple pieces of plastic air dam/rock guards is way ridiculous - time for you to go to junk yard and buy them...
