Default You guys think this hood damage can be fixed?? Fiberglass?

Well i was getting ready to leave work last friday and a guy was looking at my car and wanted to hear it and se under the hood so i obliged. I took the hood off and then started it for him.. Well my hood has regular hood pins on the back but locking pins on the front and you need the key on my key ring to lock it.. Well i put the hood back on and just left the car running, so i put the 2 rear pins on but didn't think about the 2 front ones bc the keys were in the ignition.
Well im heading home and the hood acted normal, so i just cruise. Well i get to one of those highway patrol things where it tells your speed. Me being crazy i try to beat my "high score" of 84mph , so i give it a lil gas just to play around and i go around one car and right when i hit the radar the thing says "74mph and BoOOM the hood just flew off. I just watched it in the rear view mirror fly threw the air . So i hit the turn only lane real quick to go back and see the damage.

Here it is.

Yeah it can be fixed pretty easily by a body guy. It shouldn't cost too much either. Good luck with it!

I was hoping that it being hit that hard on the corners wouldn't make it salvaged. How much will paint be to go ahead and paint the hood while were at it?

If 600 is a quote then its a rip off. Thats WAY WAY to much for the amount of damage done. Paint isnt that expensive.lol.Jesus..He would prob be better off buying a new hood at that price.

I believe it is worst if the damage or crack is in the middle. Edge should be easy.

Ya way to go VFN for building one hell of a flying hood.. Ya thats really all the damage, i mean it broke the hood pins on the back into pieces.

Score
10/10 on lift off
10/10 flight (it did do a flip lol)
8/10 landing was a little rough

yeah I'm impressed should be easy to fix... my only worries is that there might be small stress cracks or somthing on the bottom.
