You do not need to use Hi Temp paint or clear. Normal will be fine

Scuff with 400 or 600 just enough to knock the shine off. Clean it off throughly and shoot with color and clear.

If youre looking to get rid of the casting marks and make it glass smooth, you may want to invest in some high fill primer and hit it with something like 180/240/320/400/600 and then paint it. I left my casting marks, its an engine - not a motorcycle tank.

Looks like this:

Do it right. Smooth and fill. I use single stage acrylic enamel. Have done a bunch and they all still look good. Let me know if you need more info.

Oh thats a chrysler metallic silver, i think its off the 300Cs back when they first came out, I was just grabbing any random silver I had lying around. Ive since painted the manifold again to match all of the fluid tanks in the engine bay. The color I have now is a heavy pearl metallic charcoal color from BMW. I left the strut bar chrysler silver for a little difference to tie in the carbon FRCs.

I don't think you need to worry bout heat resistant paint. The intake doesn't get hot. Everyone also thinks they need heat resistant paint. The only think i have used heat resistant paint on is my motorcycle engine. Also if you scuf the intake good with 400 then you wil be good, but if your worried about it you can spray some adhesion promoter on it to.

Im actually pretty sure you could paint the valve covers with no issue as well, paint is much more resilient than its assumed to be.

My valve covers are identical paint. Single stage acrylic enamel. No issues a couple years later.

I didn't use any high temp paint however I did use 3 coats of clear after my base coat/primer/plastic paint promoter.

This is what mine looks like and still looks like this after almost a year now.
I also painted the fuel rails gloss black w/ clear coat.

I took mine to my body shop and they did it with primer, color coat, and clear coat...just like any good paint work is done..did it 4 years ago and it still looks good today.
