I recently upgraded to the M12 t56 in my camaro, due to my t56 being in desperate need of some rebuilding.. Anyways I have the old t56 left and selling it for parts. It was kind of a first time learning how to do it build a few years back, and has quite a few problems lol.. Thankfully it taught me alot and I have successfully rebuilt quite a few transmissions since. Will post pictures up later this week.

1998 t56 out of a camaro

The bad
-Input shaft has a slight whine to it when clutch is released. gear looked discolored when it was torn down.
-3/4 synchro key broken, so 3-4 grinds all times.
-5th gear also grinds.
-didn't replace the snap rings in the trans when building it.. reverse snap ring broke and destroyed reverse gear and synchronizer/hub as well as the roller bearing/spacers behind it, it put a nice groove in the tailshaft of the case, but it has had 5k miles put on it since i did that.. I just put it back together with a new snap ring with no reverse just to get me by.. !reverse lol
-shift coupler will be taken to be put on my m12 transmission.

The Good
Trans is still actually in the car and driving.
No leaks
steel 3/4 shift fork
all bronze shift pads for 1/2 3/4 5/6
2nd gear has about 5k miles
1/2 3/4 5/6 synchro hubs have about 5k miles as well, however not sure of condition now after being forced to drive with a bad slave cylinder for a while.

I figured somebody could use it for parts that builds alot of t56's, as there are alot of salvageable parts in it. I'm looking for 350!! + shipping.


98 - 02 rear brakes
-backing plates with e-brake shoes
-both rear calipers pretty sure all that hardware is there. painted red.
-both rear e-brake cables.
-rotors and pads are not included....

Fed-ex ground looks like it'd be right at about 100 with guessing the dimensions.. Bellhousing isn't included as of right now. If my m12 comes in with a bellhousing i will throw it in though. I bought it from a salvage yard and I'm not sure if they included the bellhousing. price is OBO
