I've been confronted by someone with another set of heads and i'm thinking of swapping before my build is entirely finished.

here's info from TEA's website:
http://totalengineairflow.com/products/gmhead/tfsls1/

Our biggest cathedral port offering, this is a larger
version of our 235 head which uses 2.100" and 1.600"
valves. Optimized for large bore (4.155" and up)
larger cubic inch strokers. 70cc chamber is standard.
Combine this with an LSX block and build the ultimate
large cubic inch monster.

$2615.00
Fully assembled with Ferrea valves, titanium
retainers, Gold Extreme springs (hyd roller),
machined steel locks.

Flow Data 245cc

Flow Data
Intake Exhaust
0.1 69 56
0.2 146 130
0.3 237 201
0.4 294 249
0.5 336 269
0.55 348 273
0.6 353 276

Tested on 4.185" bore @28"
These are 4-bolt heads, not 6. This means nothing unless you plan on spraying a LOT of nitrous or a LOT boost.

Like i said, i'm only considering sell these heads for a different set, and that's about all i can say about that at this time

These TEA TFS 245's are in mint condition. They are installed on the engine and it has been started, but never driven. the car is still on jackstands. the engine has MAYBE 8 minutes of run time on it, never seeing over 4000rpms. It was built buy Erik Koenig at HKE, so you know it was done right, i have receipts and paperwork to prove it if need be. The heads are still on the motor, just as they are pictured, and will remain there until i have a deposit on them. Only then will they be removed and shipped. They come assembled as they do from TEA: springs/locks/valves/retainers/etc...no pushrods or rockers.

As you can see above, the heads are over $2600 new. My heads are still new, with only minutes of run time. i'm going to ask $2400 shipped and we'll go from there, but i'd like to get that out of them since they're practically brand new.

Feel free to PM or email any and all questions or offers, my email is benfreeman450@hotmail.com. i'll be able to answer quicker that way than via PM due to my blackberry being slow on this site

Thanks ,
Ben

I assume these will work on a 4.125 bore, they are just better for larger.
will the stock LS1 valvetrain work, there is a note in there add about needing a roller rocker and longer push rods. These could be just what I need.

I was looking at these for when I build my 427 and was going to run boost. If I bought these now they would go on a ls2 with a cam. Would these be too much over kill for a pretty much stock motor?

So just add some pushrods and some roller rockers and they are totally ready to bolt on? I wouldnt lose any performance if I did bolt these onto a stock ls2 would I? Pick them up now and then swap them over to the other shortblock when that is said and done.

I think you should probably call TEA and find out about the LS2. I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction.

I called and spoke with them this afternoon. They were not too sure if I'd actually lose power or not. Said they have never been in that predicament. He was wondering if the valve would have problems being so close to the pistons or something like that I'm half asleep. If you can find out a better answer and we can work on price I'm still interested.

i honestly can't say for sure. i don't anything about your motor and not sure how the valves in the heads are oriented in space inside the chamber. i think with that small of a bore another concern might be the valves hitting the sides of the cylinder, but i can't say, i just don't know. i'm kind of surprised TEA couldn't tell you.

As for the price, i'm pretty close to what i have to have out of them. and to be quite honest, i'm in the same boat as you. the heads i'm getting may not work with my pistons due to the valve size and angle being different. if i can't figure out my situation, i won't be selling the heads.
