That's not a GM OEM SS hood made by SLP (1998-2002 model years). That looks to be a RK sport/Sun Coast version of the SS hood. RK/Sun Coast version had more defined lines and a wider SS scoop base by the windshield wipers (basically a slightly different shape to get around the GM SLP copy right laws). I know, I bought that damn RK/Sun Coast hood years ago thinking it was the real thing and was pissed ever since at the company because their magazine ads portrayed the real SS style! Closely compare the SS hood scoop lines of this true GM SS hood...

I honestly don't see the difference. But you make the 2nd person to say it is from sun coast. Which is 745.00 new + S/H. Like I told the other guy. When I bought the car I was told it was all original. And it says 1998 Z28 SS on the title. But Ive took the oem part off so no one else will say anything.
It just pisses me off that I was lied to. I really wanted a SS. But oh well what can I do? Not a damn thing.
Sorry to everyone that has seen this thread and thought that this was an oem hood I honestly thought it was an SS hood. So that is one reason for this update.

Used fiberglass hoods aren't worth as much as an OEM hood IMO. I'd rather have the OEM gear. Just because it costs an assload for you to get it doesn't mean we'll buy it for such =P
I'm not here to put you down or anything but I hope you can sell it for at least something decent. Sorry to hear about your shady deal.

While this is usually true, I think his asking price is actually pretty reasonable. Suncoast hoods have a very good reputation, and I think this hood may be a bit more desirable because it's a little different than the normal LS1 SS hoods. If the hood fits snug and lines up perfectly when installed, I have no doubt someone will be willing to dish out the cash.
