Default LS crank 3.185 stroke and rods

Category: Racing Parts
Price: $1200
Location (State): IL
Item Condition: Brand New
LS Engine?: Fits LS Engine

Callies XL Magnum 3.185 stroke with Honda Rod journals, brand new. Arrow billet rods 6.4", brand new.

Verified these parts will fit each other and the bob weight should come in fine with the pistons (according to a rough bob weight calculation). This is a piston centered rod setup, so the pistons will center the connecting rod, like the nascar setups.

Only have the crank and rods.

$1200 obo plus the shipping.

I was considering doing a short stroke/high rpm boosted application for this setup. Here are the benefits of using these parts (according to my research):

- Relative to a smaller rod/stroke ratio, the long rod/stroke ratio slows down the piston speed and allows for the piston to dwell at tdc longer.

- The piston centered rod has been used by Mercedes in their production vehicles and Nascar small blocks for many years, among other vehicles. The rod journals do not touch each other, so there is less friction in the design..this piston therefore, must center the connecting rod.

- Because the main and rod journals overlap more in a short stroke crankshaft, the rod journals can be smaller and still maintain strength. They have much less friction due to the smaller diameter connecting rod, but they are also stronger due to the smaller diameter of the connecting rod.

- So you end up having less friction, more strength, and a very quick revving motor. There are at least a couple high quality companies that make the bearings, the rod bearings are Olds Quad 4 bearings - not Honda, but they are almost identical.

- Very flat, very smooth torque curve and power across the board. With this setup, you could extend the power curve and rev very quickly. For someone that wants a fast revving and high revving, boosted application, I feel like this could be a great bottom end.
