Default WTB: LS1 valve cover bolt standoffs

These are the little 1/2" standoffs that bolt into the head and then the valvecover bolt screws into them. I bought heads off a fellow member and they weren't in there so I'm looking for a set.

Thanks,
Sean

They're not sold seperately. I just bought the bolts from SDPC for 3 or 4 bucks each. Got them in a day or two. They include the bolt, stand off & gromet.

Sweet...I was incorrectly told that you could not buy them whatsoever and that I would need to have them custom made or find ones people didn't need anymore.

Thanks,
Sean

That's just a spacer. Standoff bolts into head and then bolt screws into the standoff at least that's what I'm being told.

I just went out to the garage to look at the ones that I received and they look like the picture in the link. The bolt has threads on the end which will screw into the head. The only reason I would see that you would need standoffs is if you have valve cover spacers. I only see part 202 in the parts drawing as well.

I don't have VC spacers but I am not sure if the valvecovers I have are stock or not. Maybe that is the problem and the reason I need standoffs.

Well, if you don't have standard GM valve covers and you can't get the standoffs from who ever you bought the covers from, you can always make them by getting some metric threaded rod (or studs) and cuting to length then getting some aluminum rod and cutting to length then drilling and tapping the pieces. All of this could be found at your local hardware store or at worst case Pepboys & Home Depot.

Yeah I'm thinking about having a set of the standoffs made so I can use a really short valve cover bolt which will make putting on and taking off the vc's easy even w/ the headers laying almost on top of them.
