??????ls1 edit or not????? I got a 98 trans am ws6 with catback exhaust and o2 simulators and i will eventually do alot more stuff
but should i get ls1 edit or something else, and what else will i need to get to go along with ls1 edit or soemthing eles thank you

Edit allows you to program your cars on-board computer to customize it (fine tune it) to your needs. The problem with EDIT is that it is not a scanner, meaning you can't tell after you made your changes how exactly you affected your car.
Thats were AutotapEFILive (or others) come in. You plug it up to your car while your driving and depending on the scanner, it reads (takes measurements) of things like STRIMS, LTRIMS, RPMS, SPEED, Incoming Air temp and so on, straight from your car.
For EDIT and AUTOTAP you will need some type of computer to run these programs. Preferably a laptop that is a Pentium 2 or better.

Re: ??????ls1 edit or not????? You could always use a laptop linked to the video port of the screen but if you already have a 14 inch laptop screen you would have to be a retard to look at tbe little screen!

im just gettin a cheap lap top; p3 500, 128ram, ect. you dont need something really powerfull to run edit and autotap.

When i recently had my car "custom tuned" by Chris Robinson (Dallas Tx.) he literally "downloaded "my factory settings (took approx 15 min.) then went & tweaked them with LS1 Edit. He then "uploaded" the new settings & plugged up his GM Scan tool (Some Huge handhelp device)
& we drove around. Part throttle, WOT, from a roll, top speed ,he did it all!!!
Went back & he plugged up the lap top again & "tweaked" some more. we did this 3X til it was perfect. I am no computer guru so i leave that to the pro's.
Anyway, it is a mod that you will definately notice.
