dyno or street tune.
I was quoted anywhere from 300-600 for a dyno tune on a stock motor with simple bolt ons if that helps you at all.

well not sure if i need a dyno or a street tune. im putting in a torquer v.2 and 5.3 heads, should get me 11.5:1 comp. i'm on a tight budget so if a street tune works and is cheaper i would consider it, however i dont want to have to do it twice to get it right if ya know what i mean

I paid 500 for a dyno tune before i ended up just buying hp tuners to do it myself.

Make sure ya give them a list of things you WANT done. If you just show up at say I need a tune it appears most guys that post up their professional tunes on here just have hacked PE tables. Make sure you tell them you want idle, drivability (fuel economy), timing adjusted, VE/MAF tables right, trans tables tweaked if your an auto and so on. OR you could just spend the money that you would on a tune and just buy HP tuners or efi live and do it yourself

Pay someone who knows what they're doing to tune it. Do some research around your area on who is the best around. It's not worth saving the couple extra bucks to mess up what you've already poured so much money into, or not getting the most potential out of your setup.
