need help ASAP
I`m in the middle or an intake swap on an 01 Pontiac TA. It looks like I broke the oil sending unit and I don`t have time to replace it. How will the car run without it? It`s a single wire unit, so will it throw a code??? It doesnt look like it will leak oil or anything. Thanks!
I have never tryed to run with it broken, it is not hard to install with the intake in place if you buy the specal socket to fit the sending unit, sockrt only about 8-10.00

Well I got my car back together with no issues and she runs great. I found out that you can run a 99 and newer LS1 without the oil pressure sending unit. No leaks and no codes! Also about 5 years ago I pulled the oil catch can and installed a metco valve cover breather and the intake was very clean, not a drop of oil. Time to hit the track!!!

Well my low oil light still works and with a LS1 thats all you need. LOL The gauge now "shows" 80 psi. I had to have my car back and nobody had the unit or special tool in stock. Hey "2001nbmz28" you live in Jax too?! I just moved to Jax and will be running at Gainesville on 4-8-09. I`m stoked, I heard that Gainesville is the fastest track in the country!
To the OP, we are in Jacksonville. We can help you out. You really need to know what kind of oil pressure your LSx powered vehicle has at all times. This can be a very unforgiving thing.
