tunning a 02 trans am with auto and when ever im at WOT some times the car hits the rev limiter going 1>2 and some times from 2>3. then other times it shifts fine. car wont do the samething twice. shift points are set to 6000 for both and the rev limiter is set to 6800... when car shifts it is nice and frim so i dont think the gears are bad, but it hits the rev limiter and shifts. some tought on how to fix would be awsome. i was thinkin about changeing disired shift time or line pres... any ideas...

well that is true but my car used to do the same thing. judging by the stock shift points then im sure the shift mph is stock also. But every car i have tuned the rev limiter is disabled from the factory, therefore relying on the fuel cut-off limiter to keep the motor from spinning to high. factory its set at 6200. if he has a converter and its on the loose side it will cause the car to shift at around 6200 like mine did even though the pcm is calling for 6000 because of the extra slip causing it to hit the 6200 rpm fuel cut-off.all he has to do is go into the fuel cut-off tables and raise them up by 1-200 rpm like i explained in my earlier post and then probably lower the shift mph till it shifts at the 6000 rpms the pcm is commanding.

This question (trans vs tune) could be answered by scan
data. Trans Current Gear moves and trans does nothing,
is a mechanical problem. Trans Current Gear sitting put
while you bump the limiter, is a settings problem.
