Pcm Learning time...
Q: If you "ordered a programmed PCM",why would you want to know NOW about TM - either that was removed or was not by the "programmers"?? See other posts on TM, but unless you have modified tranny and rear, I'd leave TM in.
Do follow ALL the supplied instructions, follow all EMI/RFI/ESD and grounding precautions (if you don't know about these, please have a qualified service technician perform the PCM replacement!), and I would do nothing other than confirm no set or stored codes, than start up and go!

The crank shaft variation "learn" can only be done using a scan tool with bi-directional capabilities. THe PCM will not learn this information by itself.
If you replace your PCM, you *must* perform a crank position sensor relearn.

"Reprogramming the PCM does not require running the CKP procedure unless the PCM is new or from another vehicle."
Of course it can't hurt to do the relearn...

PCMs, like any computer are very succeptable to static, and other maladies when not connected, and even more so during the process of connecting.
EMI= voltage transients
RFI = radio/microwave transients
ESD= static sparks
I didn't mention EMP, because I don't think you are near a thunderstorm or a nuclear bomb explosion...

Good luck!
